This week we will start Boxcar Children. Questions will be answered in the comprehension guide that you purchased from the book list. You may still write down their answer on another page but please have them answer the questions in the book on the lines provided (we need to practice with wide-ruled rather than handwriting paper). A quick note: this guide will ask students to go beyond content in the text and use thinking skills to identify character traits. You might want to review the character traits on p. 6 of the comprehension guide. These questions do not necessarily have a "right" answer but students should always defend why they picked that trait in their answer and/or give examples of where they saw it. The guides can be placed in the folders just like the questions for review. Enjoy :)
