Math-We'll be reviewing some mental math strategies (p38-39 in the Teacher's Guide contain a refresher on this concept). The students are doing so well with their math facts-many are close to mastery! Consider shortening the time: if your student can complete it in 2 minutes, try 1 min. 45 sec.
Grammar- We've added adverbs to our parts of speech. The cd with the teacher's manual has sample question/answer flows at the end if you're new to this curriculum.
Reading- This week, you'll get the final reading packet for Prairie School as well as the packet for next week when we start Animal Folk Tales.
Poetry-We've moved on to our fourth poem! Every student is reciting for the class daily with most doing more than one poem. Even though these are short poems, we're building great confidence and increasing their comfort level in being in front of the class. They remain very enthusiastic!
