Math-MF (math fact) practice will be completed daily in place of the math journals. The previous week's completed sheets will be collected every Monday for a homework grade. Once students have achieved mastery (90% or better) for a particular set, they no longer need to complete practice sheets at home, only at school. Once we move to a new block of sheets, they'll need to start over with working toward mastery. Full instructions are in the math journals but please let me know if you have any questions! Also, please make sure that on home school days, even if you are not "teaching" a new lesson, that you are familiar with the strategies being taught and that your student demonstrates understanding of those particular strategies. If your student didn't complete Singapore 1A & B, you may want to review the Teacher's Guide p2-3. Going forward, I've tried to pick and choose what parts of the lessons are most important for them to master so there are times when not all of the workbook is assigned or where we might skip either textbook or workbook.
Handwriting-I won't be assigning any specific handwriting or copy work for home days. All written work should be considered as handwriting practice. Please continue to correct writing in all subjects, particularly Spelling and History.
History-This semester we won't be doing individual history journal presentations. Instead I'll be grading each entry individually so please have students bring them to class daily. Most likely every other week, I'll keep them overnight to look over.
