Math-Overall, the class is still struggling with the concepts covered in the last chapter.  After looking over the assessments, a lot of the mistakes had to do with math fact errors so I've decided to move on as we continue to practice those.  The next chapter is a little easier so I'll take the extra class time to work on strengthening these concepts.  If designated on the last test, please work through missed problems with your student.

Spelling- We will add phonogram assessment trackers to the spelling section of the binders this week.  Please administer assessment #1 on Friday as well as the sound cards for those same phonograms.  For this, dictate the sound and have the student write the correct phonogram in the box.  You can either make a copy of the one in the binder or use a whiteboard marker and write directly on the sheets in the page protector.  Thank you for taking time to do this-it helps me get a quick reference for where the students are with the phonograms.

Reading-After a few questions regarding narration, I'll also be adding a "Guide to Teaching Narration" to the reading section of the binders.  This is just for your reference.  Basically you determine where your student is in the process and work from there.  Not every student will need to start at the beginning-several of them are further along in the learning process than that.  We are working on this in class also.
